For quite a long time, we all have been taught about keeping our environment clean by gaining control on pollution. Well, only words can’t do anything. An initiative is something that can actually create a difference.
So, Noida decided to convert these thoughts into actions. Vertical gardens are in the making, which will be put up on pillars under metro corridors, elevated roads , flyovers and drains. A vertical garden grows upwards using a trellis or other support system rather than on the ground. This technique is quite famous all around the world and some of the Indian cities including Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Kochi have also adopted it.
The Authority has already tested it at its office in Sector 6. Work is at its fastest pace at sector 15 metro station pillars. It will also cover the city drains like Shahdara Drain which will act as a view cutter and would also give a helping hand in cutting down pollution and there by purifying the air.
The plant species would include money plant, asparagus sprengeri, tradescantia, ficus long island and many more.
Its one tiny step in controlling the humongous pollution which spreads because of the carelessness of the humans. If we have the capability to destroy the environment, then we must also have the heart to form it again with care and love.
So when are you planting a vertical garden of your own at your home?
